STORY OF MAN

SONU SHAIKH

Sonu Shaikh – Founder & Creative Director, Step Kreator’s Dance Company.

Born on October 8, 1988, in Mumbai, Sonu Shaikh is the visionary behind Step Kreator’s Dance Company, known today for luxury choreography and grand celebrations. Inspired by his uncle, Kausar Shaikh, Sonu’s dance journey began early — lighting up school events with raw talent. At 12, he joined Shadow Dance Company, and by 16, became a professional dancer.

Leaving school after 7th standard to support his family, Sonu joined the Cine Dancers Association and performed in Bollywood as a background dancer. His big break came in 2005 as Assistant Choreographer on Nach Baliye Season 1, working with Al & Mel, then Geeta Kapur on Dance India Dance.

In 2009, Sonu got his first independent gig at Modern School, Kota. By 2012, he returned to Nach Baliye as lead choreographer for Jaisheel & Suhasi Dhami. His work expanded into films, stage, and ad campaigns for brands like Pepsi, IPL, and Amazon.

After running Sonu Dance Workstation for 13 years, he rebranded as Step Kreator’s in 2023, focusing on luxury weddings.
